ThE rAciNg CaNe...

On Saturday, September 19th, Kaylin ran in her 1st little race!!! All of us ran in a 5K to give to the kids in the Dominican Republic who don't have any shoes to wear when walking this same distance to get to school! Shoes were donated and all of the proceeds went to these children who are in such need of a pair of shoes!! Kaylin, Savanna, and Blake all ran in the kids 1K race!! It was so cute! Kaylin was SO SO excited...when I first asked her if she wanted to run in the race, she told me, "Mom, I am going to run so fast and win!" Then right before the race all of the kids were doing jumping jacks to warm up. I asked Kaylin if she wanted to join in and she said, "No, I only want to run!" :)

She was running so fast and at the very end she started to walk! She started pointing to her throat and said, "Mom, this is kind of hurting!"

Dax was just along for the ride! He loved wearing the t-shirt and did a little running too!

Kaylin told me that she needs to get a medal when she finishes the race!! (So I brought one from a previous race to give to her when she crossed the finish line!) She did so great and we were SO proud of her!! :)

After, the kids got to play in a bounce house and have their faces painted!!! Such a fun morning for us all!!!

GoOdByE gRaNd RaPiDs...

Well, we said goodbye to Grand Rapids on August 25th! We lived in a beautiful apartment complex called Woodland Creek!!!  Every day we would drive past this pond and every single time the kids would yell, "Geese....Water!"  Dax was especially fascinated with all of the geese!  I, on the other hand, was not a huge fan...I was constantly cleaning geese poop off of their shoes!!  Needless to say, we enjoyed our time here and it is always an adventure to be somewhere new!!  However, we are so glad to be back home!! :)

The Clubhouse!

Here is where KK and Dax spent most of the summer!  This is the view from our back porch and everyday all of the kids would spend hours out here playing!!  I am so glad we ended up in this apartment!!!

Allan, Kaylin, Hailey, and Dax...We went on a little walk around the apartments!

Here is the cute little community garden!

There is a little trail off in the trees...the kiddos wanted to follow it and take a "hike in the woods!"

Our destination...The Clubhouse!  The office always has freshly baked cookies that the kids love!!  So I guess you can imagine why we went there 3-4 times a week!! :)

OuR LaSt DaYs in MiChiGaN...

So here is how we spent our last week out here in Michigan!  Of course a lot of it was spent packing, but we did get over to Chuck E Cheese!  The kids absolutely love it here, even though it is a little on the gross side!! :) We had a fun little afternoon!

They picked these little microphones from all of their tickets!

THE CASCADE LIBRARY

Every Tuesday we went to story time at the library and they participated in the little summer reading program!  So here we are at Pizza Hut getting their free personal pan pizzas!!!

THE SUMMER GANG
Dax and Conor giving hugs!!  It is so cute because every time they come out to play, Conor and Dax run to each other and give the biggest hugs!!! It really is so precious!

So here they all are...Kaylin, Conor, Chris, Dax, Hailey, and Allan!  We are so grateful for the wonderful friends we made during the summer!  Kaylin and Dax are going to miss them tons!!

SeRiOuSLy...???

Well, what can I say?...Here is what my husband does when he goes on vacation for a week!!:)  Why he feels the need to grow a "stache"... I will never know!! It must just be a guy thing!  He thought it was pretty funny and I thought it was pretty creepy!! Anyway, he was pretty proud and he got a great reaction from the guys in his office when he showed up on Monday morning!! He definitely likes to make us all laugh...but thank goodness it is gone!!! :)

10 YeAr ReUniOn...

Well, on August 7-9th I went back to "my home"...Louisville, KY!  It's been a long time since I have been back to visit since my parents no longer live there!  Needless to say, it brought back lots of memories and made me actually feel a little homesick!  Anyway, it was my 10 year high school reunion...which I can't believe I am that old already!  Breton stayed at the lake house with the kiddos and the rest of my family so I could have a nice little weekend away! I had SO much fun seeing the "old gang" and hanging out with such great friends!!!

Love all my girls!!!

DaYs At ThE LaKe...

Well, here we are once again up at the lake! It is so fun to be here and the kids love every second of it! We are so glad we get to come spend lots of time at Grandma and Papa's lake house!!! :)

Alicia and KK!

Eating corn on the cob...everyday!!!

Dax and Papa!

Kaylin and Ashlee!

They love all of Uncle Mikey's fun "toys!"

KK's HaiRcUt...

Well, it was finally time to cut Kaylin's hair! I have been trying to cut it for a while, but she kept telling me she wants it long like Mommy, Ashlee, and Alicia! After lots of convincing, she finally decided it would be a good idea! It was a huge struggle to brush through her hair after the bath and almost always resulted in crying...often times before the brush even touched her hair! So we had Alicia cut off about 4 inches and let me tell you...it has been the greatest thing ever!!
